Burlingame Dragons FC Sign U-20 United States National Team Player Amir Bashti

Stanford Midfielder & Earthquakes Academy Graduate Brings Flair, Creativity to Burlingame

The Burlingame Dragons Football Club have announced the marquee signing of Stanford midfielder Amir Bashti for the 2016 Premier Development League season. The talented Bashti’s commitment brings the total to eighteen players who have officially been announced as members of the Dragons this season. 

Bashti has been part of the National Team’s Player pool since he played with the U-14’s in 2010. He is a veteran of three Under-18 Men’s National Team camps and traveled to Serbia in September of 2015 with the U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team for the Stevan Vilotic-Cele Tournament. 

The San Jose, CA native is a member of the San Jose Earthquakes Academy. He scored a team-high 16 goals for the Quakes in 2014-15, starting all but one of his 22 appearances. 

Bashti is coming off of a fantastic Freshman season in which he helped the Cardinal win the NCAA National Championship. The 5’7, 145 lb. midfielder appeared in 21 matches, scoring four goals and notching two assists. His two goals in the second round of the NCAA Tournament against Santa Clara were pivotal in the Cardinal’s run to glory.
