Burlingame Dragons FC Sign Former New England Revolution GK Larry Jackson
Talented Goalkeeper Will Mentor Young Dragons Keepers
The Burlingame Dragons are pleased to announce the signing of goalkeeper Larry Jackson for the remainder of the 2016 Premier Development League season. In April 2014, Jackson was signed by the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer, completing the season on the roster of the club. He also spent time in camp with the Colorado Rapids organization.
Last season, Jackson played with the Wilmington Hammerheads of the United Soccer League. The 6’1, 175 lb. standout played in five games with the Hammerheads, four coming in a starting role.
The East Palo Alto, CA native played his collegiate soccer at Santa Clara University where he starred with the Broncos. He was named the West Coast Conference’s Goalkeeper of the Year after his senior season in 2012. He as also named to the NSCAA All-West Region Third Team in 2012. He led the Broncos with a 0.70 goals against average and six shutouts as he steered the team to an 11-5-1 record that season.
Widely known for his athletic ability, “Leaping Larry”, brings with him to Burlingame, an experienced pedigree and a vast knowledge of the game at the highest levels. His experience can only help the plethora of younger Dragons goalies on the roster such as J.T. Marcinkowski and Nico Corti once they arrive after their collegiate spring seasons end.
