Burlingame Dragons FC Re-Sign Joseph Cairel & Khalid Arramdani
Attacking Pair Coming Off a Strong Preseason with the Dragons
The Burlingame Dragons are proud to announce the re-signings of forward Khalid Arramdani and Joseph Cairel for the 2016 Premier Development League season. Both players are expected to contribute heavily to the Dragons success early and often this season.
Arramdani returns to the Dragons after playing for the organization in 2015. He arrived late in the season, but had a massive impact as his goal against Golden State last season clinched the Southwest Division Title in the Dragons inaugural season. The Moroccan-born forward possesses blazing speed that provides quite a conundrum for all opposition.
The 6’0, 160 lb. forward has played with the East Bay Stompers of the NPSL in 2015 as his solid season for the squad gained him notice and allowed him to play in the PDL. Arramdani’s collegiate career took off at Canada College in Redwood City, where he was named a NSCAA Junior College Men’s 2nd Team All-American after scoring 23 goals in 2013.
Cairel is coming off a solid season for the Dragons last year where he played in eight games in multiple positions. The hard-working Cairel plays mostly on the wing where he creates scoring opportunities with his speed and crafty play.
After playing for the Dragons in 2015, Cairel moved up to Tacoma, WA,where he signed with the Tacoma Stars of the Major Indoor Soccer League. In 16 games for the Stars, Cairel scored six goals and notched 6 assists. He also spent time with Real San Jose of the National Professional Soccer League in 2015, scoring three goals in his two games with the club.
Cairel attended Monterrey Peninsula College in 2014 and had a standout season for MPC. In 19 games, Cairel scored 12 times and collected seven assists for a team leading, 31 points. His tireless work rate and his competitive nature will serve him well in the PDL again this season.
