Dragons FC Breeze Past Menlo College to Continue Impressive Preseason

The 4-0 Win Moves BDFC To 5-1-1 In Exhibition Play

The Burlingame Dragons FC defeated the Menlo College Oaks this afternoon 4-0 in Atherton, CA. The win continues an impressive preseason for BDFC, moving their exhibition record to 5-1-1. 

The Dragons opened the scoring early with quick goals from Matt Weisenfarth & Jamael Cox in the 24th & 27th minutes respectively. The rest of the half was scoreless and the Dragons went into the locker room up 2-0. The 2nd half saw two back-to-back goals, the first from Joseph Cairel in the 62nd minute and the second from Jamael Cox in the 63rd. Strong defensive play & goalkeeping through out the match held the Oaks scoreless and the final score was a 4-0 win for the Dragons.

Preseason play wraps up next Friday as the Dragons travel to Palo Alto to take on the defending national champion Stanford Cardinal. Five members of the current Stanford squad will join the Dragons this summer for PDL play once the school year ends. Kickoff is set for 7pm at Steuber Rugby Stadium on the campus of Stanford.
