2016 US Open Cup Draw Announced

Dragons FC Travel to Sacramento to face the NPSL's Sacramento Gold in Round One

U.S. Soccer today announced the opening round match ups for the 2016 US Open Cup. The Burlingame Dragons FC have been drawn against the Sacramento Gold of the NPSL in the first round. The matchup will take place Wednesday, May 11th at Capital Christian High School in Sacramento.

If the Dragons FC win the first round match, the second round opponent would be either the Portland Timbers U-23's (PDL) or La Maquina (USASA) from Los Angeles. The Dragons are not scheduled to face any professional squads until the third round, where MLS & NASL teams enter the tournament.

This will be the second appearance in the tournament for both the Sacramento Gold & Burlingame Dragons FC. While the Dragons do not kickoff PDL play until May 6th, the Gold are already several weeks into the NPSL season with a record of 2-1 thus far.
