Dragons FC Sign Davi Ramos & Valdemar Andersen
Two West Coast Conference Players to Add to International Flavor of Team
The Burlingame Dragons Football Club are excited to announce the signings of defender Valdemar Andersen and midfielder Davi Ramos for the upcoming 2016 Premier Development League season. Ramos and Andersen bring the total of Dragons players signed for this season to 32.
Andersen plays his collegiate soccer with the West Coast Conference Co-Champion Santa Clara Broncos. The 6’5, 200 lb. Freshman, started 16 of the Broncos 17 games this season. He collected one assist during his first campaign in Santa Clara. He was named Honorable Mention All-WCC this season.
The rugged Danish international played two games for the Danish U-18 National Team in 2013, when he was named Player of the Year by his coaches and fellow players. Andersen is well known for his passionate and physical defensive play and will bring added toughness to the Dragons back four.
Ramos plies his trade up the Peninsula as he plays his collegiate soccer at the University of San Francisco. The Dons central midfielder had a successful year in San Francisco as he powered the school to a 4th place finish in the WCC in 2015. He started in all 15 of his appearances this season and scored three goals while notching two assists. In his two years at USF, Ramos has played in 27 games, scoring seven times while dishing out six assists. His play in 2015 earned Ramos 2nd Team All-WCC Honors and he went on to be named to the WCC All-Academic Team for his work in the classroom.
The 6’1, 185 lb., sophomore played his first two years of collegiate soccer at North Carolina State University. The Brazilian national is most comfortable in a central midfield role distributing the ball all over the field with his deft passing touch.
