Burlingame Dragons Strengthen Roster Ahead of Massive U.S. Open Cup Match

Several Dragons Return From 2016 Squad, Including Amir Bashti, Jamael Cox & Matt Wiesenfarth

The Burlingame Dragons have announced the signing of 13 new players ahead of Wednesday's U.S. Open Cup clash with the San Francisco Deltas (NASL). Several key player return from the 2016 Dragons squad including Matt Wiesenfarth and Jamael Cox. Wiesenfarth scored over the weekend in the Dragons 1-1 tie with San Francisco City. He spent the off season abroad, playing in New Zealand with Canterbury United. Cox returns after a stint playing with the Tacoma Stars in the Major Arena Soccer League.

Several Stanford stars are back with the Dragons after another national championship winning season. Amir Bashti, Tanner Beason and Nico Corti will join the Dragons at the end of the month.

The Dragons face the San Francisco Deltas in the U.S. Open Cup tomorrow at 7pm in Palo Alto. The next home match is Sunday May 21st 4pm against San Francisco City FC. All attendees at that match will receive free pizza with admission. Click Here to Buy Your tickets
