Dragons FC Fall to FC Tucson 3-2 in Western Conference Championship Semi Finals

Comeback Falls Short as Dragons Rally in the 2nd Half from a 2-0 Deficit

Only 72 hours after a thrilling First Round playoff victory in Fresno, the Dragons traveled to Tucson, AZ for the Western Conference Championship Semi Finals versus #1 Seed FC Tucson. In heartbreaking fashion, the Dragons came back from a 2-0 halftime deficit to level the match, but gave up a third goal in the 83rd minute to eventually fall 3-2.

FC Tucson controlled most of the early play, scoring two first half goals in the 30th & 36th minutes to take a 2-0 advantage into halftime. In the second half, the Dragons rallied with a goal in the 60th minute from Khalid Arramdani, and an equalizer from Christian Theirjung in the 74th minute to level the match at two. However, FC Tucson continued to push forward and scored the match winner in the 83rd minute to win 3-2. FC Tucson moves on to the Western Conference Championship Finals versus FC Calgary Foothills on Saturday at 7:30pm.

The Dragons finish the season with a record of 8-6-2, reaching the Western Conference Championship Semi Final Round for the second consecutive season. The Dragons end their second season in the USL PDL with another strong finish on the field, and outstanding community support through the Peninsula.
