Dragons FC Beat San Jose State 3-0 to Continue Undefeated Preseason

The Burlingame Dragons FC continued their stellar 2016 PDL preseason as they traveled to San Jose on Sunday and defeated the San Jose State Spartans 3-0. The Dragons are undefeated four games into their preseason (3-0-1) which will continue this coming Friday as they take on the San Francisco Dons at Negoesco Stadium. Game time is 7:00pm.

The Dragons four game stretch has seen them score eight goals while only conceding three. Burlingame’s defense continues to get stronger as the offense is beginning to gel together. The high-pressing and hard-working Dragons have been improving every game.

The preseason began as the Dragons took on the Earthquakes U-18’s, defeating them 1-0.  Matt Wiesenfarth banged home the game winner on an assist from Khalid Arramdani.

The preseason continued as the Dragons traveled to Moraga to take on the St. Mary’s Gaels. Matt Wiesenfarth and Khalid Arramdani would stay hot as each found the net against the Gaels as Burlingame came from behind to tie the Gaels on a cold and dreary day. The Gaels provided a stern and physical test for the Dragons who showed plenty of determination in clawing back two different times to draw on the road.

The 3rd game of the preseason took the Dragons to the southern portion of the East Bay, taking on the East Bay Stompers at Karl Nordvik Field in Fremont.  The Dragons would trail again in this one until forward Jose Ramirez netted a brace in the last 15 minutes, first in the 75th with the game-tying goal and then the game winner in 2nd half injury time. A very physical Stompers team tested the Dragons, but the Boys from Burlingame were able to take control in the 2nd Half and come away with the victory.

Finally, the Dragons played their most complete game today as they comprehensively defeated the Spartans in front of a crowd of hundreds at the Spartan Soccer Fields. A first half goal headed in by forward Ugo Uche got the Dragons rolling. In the 2nd half, it was more of the same as Arramdani found the net for his 2nd of the preseason and Ramirez capped it off, scoring his third of the preseason, giving the Dragons their much deserved victory.
